Rheumatoid arthritis – is there a role for apitherapy?

Introduction: Apitherapy is a therapeutic approach based on the use of beehive products. It frequently suggested for treatment rheumatoid arthritis. This study was to assess recommendations apitherapists regarding arthritis.
 Methods: 129 books written by were reviewed their These compared findings preclinical and clinical studies subject. 
 Results: Sixty-eight (52.7%) mention topic There 44 different recommendations. They include all bee products (honey, pollen, propolis etc.) but mainly venom (15 times) royal jelly (5 times). Bee acupuncture (apipuncture) mentioned only once. Compared analyses from scientific literature, apipuncture are supported. Conclusions: analysis shows that majority apitherapeutic do not provide adequate information. However, some reports supported evidence could be an interesting means arthritis more higher quality investigations necessary.
